Random Quote of the Day: “1. Never tell everything at once.” – Ken Venturi

Hello sunshines! 🔆 With my last year of high school right around the corner I thought this would be a great time for me to post this discussion! I’ve actually been slowing planning out this post so it’s cool that I’m able to finally share it with you all!

That time in the beginning, middle, or even the end of the school/uni year where you ran out of ALL steam possible to blog. No inspiration, no time, no will-power to get up and type that post. You tell yourself that you’ll do it over the weekend but then you end up laying in your bed watching Netflix — I know, relatable.

There is no shame in this act, however, because WE’VE ALL BEEN THERE. But we are not here to dwell on the past. In fact, I’m here to help you get a kickstart to the school year and share…

✨ A GUIDE TO JUGGLING SCHOOL & YOUR BLOG ✨

💬 BE ORGANIZED

This is the BIGGEST piece of advice that I can give to ANY blogger that is also juggling school. Just recently this year I began using GOOGLE SHEETS to organize my future blog posts and believe me when I tell you it as COMPLETELY changed my blogging habits. Somehow having my planned posts set in stone on the screen really helps me stick to a schedule and to actually commit to blogging. I actually have to give credit to Fadwa for this idea because she also posted an idea related to this.

Generally I plan out all my posts with this little guy. As you can see (from left to right), I have the name of the month, the date I plan to have the post Live, the category (for archives), the post title, and the status. The status is either “DRAFT” or “SCHEDULED” — these are pretty self-explanatory. I don’t HIGHLIGHT the row until the post is Live. This system is completely customizable up to your own needs!

💬 BE CONFIDENT

bi-weekly-wrap-up-6Create content that YOU would want to read. If you aren’t enjoying what you are writing and posting, odds are you are getting bored with your content. With this, you won’t want to post because you are dreading writing those posts. Instead, visit other fellow bloggers and search their content — find a new weekly post that sparks your interest, start your OWN meme…the options are endless. Here are some of my favorite memes/posts/challenges from other bloggers: FOLLOW ME THROUGH MOROCCO | SOUVENIRS FROM ACROSS THE WORLD | WWW WEDNESDAY | TOP TEN TUESDAY | THIS OR THAT BOOK TAG

💬 BE AWARE

Know that it’s OKAY to not post every day. Now if that’s what you want to do then I say do that. However all bloggers know that it takes a LOT of commitment to have a post up everyday, so instead set a goal for yourself. Realize that you won’t always have time to post during the weekends so set up another time to do so. Be aware of your schedule and find time to do the things that you WANT to do. Work around your schedule and PLAN your days ahead of time. Once blogging becomes a chore you’re no longer enjoying your hobby.

💬 BE RESOURCEFUL

If you are having trouble finding time to post, run a search for a co-host blogger. I know a lot of bloggers who reach out to other bloggers via social media — there is always going to be someone to help you out! YOU just have to ASK! Speaking of which, if anyone is in need of a co-blogger I am more than happy to help them out! You don’t even have to find a co-blogger if that’s not your style — you can just ask people to create posts for you and give them credit on your blog. Again, it’s all about being resourceful. 2. I’m not schooling anymore, but with a baby to take care of, I’ve been finding it difficult to organise and keep on top of all my schedules so this is such a good post! THANK YOU.

The Google Sheets idea is definitely something I need to start.

  3. High school was definitely a busy time for me, but in many respects, school is great for blogging: winter and spring vacations, a long summer vacation, etc. And college is even better because you’re not in class from 8-3 every single day (or whatever one’s normal high school schedule is). I found blogging much more difficult AFTER school because working full time, being responsible for my own house/bills/etc. and not having three months off for summer vacation is very different. (Though I’m currently job seeking, so, uh, yay free time for blogging? But I kind of need money so….)

    • Oh yeah, I totally agree! When those breaks occur it is an awesome chance to catch up on the blog and stuff like that.

I’ll definitely keep that in mind when I am graduating college in a few years xD I believe in you, though..I know you’ll be able to juggle the responsibility (:
