Hello sunshines! 🔆 It breaks my heart to realize that it is almost August. August = school = horror. But as the title of this posts says, tomorrow is my Blogiversary, so that makes this upcoming month a little better!! ✨
ANYA’S GHOST BY VERA BROSGOL
MY RATING: 3.5 out of 5 stars
It is no surprise that I only read one novel this month that isn’t even an ACTUAL novel, but a graphic novel. I thought this was going to take me out of my slump, but it looks like I have to read a different novel to do that. I do have a review planned for this one later on in the week so stay tuned for that! I started reading 21 Proms, which is consisted of short stories by multiple authors, so we’ll see if that novel does the trick.

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Two days back to back? I’m on a roll!! Today’s tag is called ON MY SHELF and it was created by Iain Broome over on Booktube, so be sure to check out the original video if you are interested! This tag looked pretty fun so let’s get started!
💬 ABOUT THE TAG:
EVERY BOOK ON YOUR SHELF HAS A STORY. The story can be how you came to own that book, how you found it for the first time, or how it made you feel while reading it.
To pick which novels to talk about, you can use a random number generator OR simply close your eyes and pick one! For this post, I am using RANDOM.ORG to pick which book number! You can do as many rounds as you like, but for today I’ll be completing FIVE rounds!! (:
THE DINNER BY HERMAN KOCH: This was a book sent to me for review via Blogging for Books and I ended up not enjoying it at all. I thought it had an interesting concept so I was generally excited to read it, but turns out it was really slow and dry and I couldn’t get into it, lol.

Hello sunshines! 🔆 This post actually brings me a variety of amount of emotions and I have no idea why. Is it because it’s more than halfway through the year? Or is it because I know I have SO much reading to catch up on? Who knows! Anyways, here is my second 2017 Blog & Reading Challenges Recap post! If you missed my first Recap, you can check it out HERE!
🗯 Comment more! This is always a goal of mine, and because of this I will be taking part in the seasonal 2017 Commenting Challenge hosted by Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsense. I was too late in signing up for the January Challenge, but I will be signing up for February. Details here.
So, I did end up completing this challenge for the Winter session. I had two partners and I was challenged to comment 10+ times on a random blogger’s blog. This was actually way more manageable than the 365 Commenting Challenge I attempted to complete last year just because it was less pressure. I definitely recommend that you guys check out Alicia’s Challenge if you are interested in finding new bloggers while receiving comments!

Hello sunshines! 🔆 I know what you’re thinking…”Jesalin, how are you still finding books when you haven’t been reading any?” Well, I’ve been asking myself that exact same question.
But that is besides the point! Friday Finds is a meme hosted by @adailyrhythm. It is a chance for you to showcase the books you’ve ‘found’ and added to your TBR list! They do not have to be books you purchased and they could’ve been found anywhere — bookstores, online, library, etc. I don’t know how many Finds I’ll actually be sharing today just because this week has been pretty crazy and hence, I haven’t had much time to venture through GR to discover new Finds. But anyways, here’s what I HAVE found since my last Friday Finds (:
“Hello, my name is Esther. I am calling on behalf of Krippler Incorporated, a market research institute. Today we are conducting a survey on feline diabetes. Do you, or any member of your household, own a cat?” They hang up. “Hello. My name is Joan. I am calling on behalf of-” They hang up. “Hello. My name’s Doreen.” Jane is a telemarketer. She uses a different name each time, and soon it becomes clear that she is calling the same man again and again…
Ellie Frias disappeared long before she vanished. Tormented throughout middle school, Ellie begins her freshman year with a new look: she doesn’t need to be popular; she just needs to blend in with the wallpaper. But then the unthinkable happens and Ellie is trapped after a brutal assault. She wasn’t the first victim and now she watches it happen again and again. She tries to hold on to her happier memories in order to get past the cold days, waiting for someone to find her. The problem is, no one searches for a girl they never noticed in the first place…
