Random Fact of the Day: Dragonflies have six legs but cannot walk.

Hello sunshines! Around the time of posting this live, I will be in the hot, scorching sun on a college trip! But that’s okay, because while pre-blogging this I am appreciating my nice, air-conditioned house 🙂

I did wanna give a quick shoutout to those that are starting to share Captivating Covers on THEIR blogs — you guys are awesome!! For more information about Captivating Covers, click here.

IMAGINE THIS: A book cover that just…SCREAMS at you from a distance! The covers are vibrant, the typography is a little…messy? but in the good way, and it just shouts graffiti! You look at it and you just think…“hey, I wonder what that book is about?” or “should I make this a cover-buy?” 😉

Title: Away We Go

Author: Emil Ostrovski

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary, LGBTQ+

Published: April 5th, 2016

Am  right…or am I right about this cover?? I don’t know, when I look at it I see San Francisco graffiti that I see driving by. This isn’t a bad thing — I actually love seeing artistic graffiti around, even if it is illegal! The paint-like silhouettes, the gradient colors used for the title…I like it, do you? If you do, maybe think about reading the synopsis 🙂

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Away We Go by Emil Ostrovski

“Westing is not your typical school. For starters, you have to have one very important quality in order to be admitted—you have to be dying. Every student at Westing has been diagnosed with PPV, or the Peter Pan Virus. No one is expected to live to graduation.

What do you do when you go to a school where no one has a future? Noah Falls, his girlfriend Alice, and his best friend Marty spend their time drinking, making out, and playing video games on awaywego.com. But when an older boy named Zach (who Noah may or may not be in love with) invites Noah and Marty to join his secret Polo Club, the lives of both boys change as they struggle to find meaning in their shortened existence.

With an innovative format that includes interstitial documents, such as flyers, postcards, and handwritten notes, Away We Go is a funny, honest look at first love and tragic heartbreak.”

So what do you think — will this be a COMPLETE cover-buy? Or do you find the synopsis intriguing? Let me know in the comments for your opinion is always welcomed 🙂

Thanks for reading & I’ll see you next time…

  1. I agree, interesting cover! What do you think of my latest post? Anxious to hear your thoughts.

  2. Love the cover and the book sounds intriguing – however, I notice the Kindle edition is priced at £10.99. I might pay that for a paperback but never for an ebook. His book The Paradox of Vertical Flight is £3.49. Think he needs to get his pricing structure sorted out.
