Friday Finds [Apr. 28th]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-8

Random Quote of the Day: “I hate music, especially when it’s played.” – Jimmy Durante

Hello sunshines! 🔆 It brings such joy to me as I get to say that it is FINALLY FRIDAY!! Friday’s are always good as it is the last day of the weekdays and the start of the weekend! Friday Finds is a meme hosted by @adailyrhythm. It is a chance for you to showcase the books you’ve ‘found’ and added to your TBR list! They do not have to be books you purchased and they could’ve been found anywhere — bookstores, online, library, etc. Here’s what I’ve found since my last Friday Finds (:

Five hundred great works of art from all periods and regions in the world have been carefully selected and are arranged in chronological order, breaking through the usual geographical and cultural boundaries of art history to celebrate the vast range of human artistry.

Grace wants out. Out of her house, where her stepfather wields fear like a weapon and her mother makes her scrub imaginary dirt off the floors. Out of her California town, too small to contain her big city dreams. Out of her life, and into the role of Parisian artist, New York director—anything but scared and alone. Enter Gavin: charming, talented, adored. Controlling. Dangerous. When Grace and Gavin fall in love, Grace is sure it’s too good to be true. She has no idea their relationship will become a prison she’s unable to escape…

The Spring Has Sprung Book Tag!

bi-weekly-wrap-up-12

Random Quote of the Day: “To love deeply in one direction makes us more loving in all others.” – Anne-Sophie Swetchine

Hello sunshines! 🔆 I am officially back with another book tag: The Spring Has Sprung! I know I am a little late with the start of Spring, but it’s okay because it’s still Spring here!! 🌻

💐 FLOWERS 💐

Look on your shelves. What is the most beautiful book both inside and out?

Yoon_9780553496680_jkt_all_r1.inddTHE SUN IS ALSO A STAR by Nicola Yoon!! I think the cover goes well with the Spring-theme as it has so many bright colors! I love this novel, Yoon, and the cover so I think this one is a perfect fit (:

 🌱 GRASS 🌱

What is a book that you find others like way more than you do?

WE WERE LIARS by E. Lockhart. I know not EVERYONE likes this novel, but a ton of people have told me to “give it another try”. I just couldn’t get into the beginning and I felt disconnected from the characters.

☔️ RAIN ☔️

What’s a great book that lifts your spirits when you’re down?

LG_tumblr-ngcdmtOJvJ1thbbnoo1-1280_1422199718.539There’s so many that I could choose for this one, but it would only make sense if I chose ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES by Jennifer Niven. Now don’t get the wrong message — ATBP isn’t the happiest novel, however I love it so much and the characters that it still brings a smile to my face!

bi-weekly-wrap-up-7

Random Quote of the Day: “Age does not protect you from love. But love, to some extent, protects you from age.” – Jeanne Moreau

Hello sunshines! 🔆 We are halfway through the week and I am already ready for it to be Friday!! I am going two for two as I am posting a WCW week to week (surprise, surprise 😅)

You guys know that I go crazy for the color purple, but the first cover is also pretty good as the colors are pretty contrasting. However, how many covers do we have in YA that have a female on it? Yeah, so I’m going with the second cover!

Captivating Covers [#28]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-10

Random Quote of the Day: “The deeper sorrow carves into your being the more joy you can contain.” – Kahlil Gibran

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Ya know, it really seems as if so many 2017 releases have amazing covers!! Yay, 2017! With that being said, today I am sharing a not-yet released novel, but I guess that just adds to the anticipation!! 😀

Captivating Covers is a meme created by me — @JBelkBooks. Every week or so, I share a cover of a novel that I find to be Captivating. It doesn’t have to be one you’ve read, just one that you enjoy! You can add your own twist to it, but I like to include the book synopsis & book details. So, I created this meme to share my findings with you all! 📚

Title: Bad Romance

Author: Heather Demetrios

Genre: Young-Adult, Contemporary

Published: June 13th, 2017

Guys I’m telling you, every time I look at this cover I am continuously in awe. The cover reflects the synopsis of the novel finely and I enjoy how almost…”raw” it looks? It’s so simple yet very complex in meaning and I love that about this cover. I’ve personally never seen a cover like so, so that’s also a plus! 🌱🌾

Top Ten Tuesday [#37]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-6

Random Quote of the Day: “Promote yourself, but do not demote another.” – Israel Salanter

Hello sunshines!🔆I am officially on Spring Break which means that I am going to be blogging like crazy, trying to get as many posts as possible pre-scheduled. I’ll go more into this with my March Wrap-Up! (: Anyways, this week’s TTT is definitely a way in which i could promote my favorite books of all time 😏. Today’s topic is Books You Can Probably Read In One Sitting.

While not everyone reads at the same pace, I think these novels (at least for me) will be extremely difficult to put down! I doubt I have 10 to list, but here’s what I do recommend:

LOOKING FOR ALASKA by John Green: if you’ve been here for a while you would know that this is one of my ALL TIME favorite novels — it’s actually a quick, short read and John Green is such a beautiful writer. I know Green is controversial, but…

i really dont care.gif

ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES by Jennifer Niven: Another favorite in case this is your first time venturing my blog. Niven has amazing character development and there is ALWAYS an underlying message of her novels. It’s not the SMALLEST novel ever, but I ended up reading it in about…2 days?

THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR by Nicola Yoon: THIS NOVEL HAD ME IN SO MANY FEELS!!! There is so much going on in this novel emotionally and I love the entire premise. Diversity for the win!!!

However, I’m not making this easy on myself, because I will be picking two novels per genre/age-groups! The genres/AG that I read the most from include: YOUNG ADULTNEW ADULT, GRAPHIC NOVELS, MIDDLE GRADE, & POETRY!
