Top Ten Tuesday [#22]

FullSizeRender (8)

Random Fact of the Day: The 50 tallest mountains on Earth are all located in Asia.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week I will post a new Top Ten List (may not necessarily be 10). This list includes a variety of topics such as ‘my top ten favorite authors’ or ‘my top ten books of the month’. The topics will change, so make sure you stay tuned for each week!

This week’s topic isss…

Now, let’s see if I can actually come up with TEN, lol:

  1. Eleanor from Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell: I’ve been talking about this novel constantly since I’ve read it and I have no shame.
  2. Park from Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell: Come on, I can’t leave out Park — he is basically bae material 😉
  3. Liz from Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang: This book kind of left off on a cliff-hanger, and Liz could tell me what happens!!
  4. Violet from All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven: Every time I think of this novel I want to weep until I fall asleep…I won’t spoil anything, just know that I love this novel and the characters!
  5. Miles from Looking for Alaska by John Green: I have to revisit my favorite book’s main character ❤
  6. George from George by Alex Gino: This novel was beautiful and I think it would be awesome if there was sequel that continued George’s journey.

Aw man, so close to 10!! I know I kind of cheated with the characters, but it’s okay because I can’t just read one part of the book and not the other! A lot of the characters I listed are from recent reads, but they were such great characters (and books) that I could see myself picking these novels back up in the future.

Have you read any of these novels? What do you think of these characters? Did you post your own TTT today?

Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time…

Friday Finds [Apr.28th]

FullSizeRender (4)

Random Fact of the Day: The first ever elevator was designed to lift a passenger in 1743.

Hello all! We have made it through another week — Whew! By the time you read this, I’ll either be in my car on my way to Santa Monica, CA, for YALLWest OR I’ll already be at the event! 😀 Anyways, today I am here to share the novels that I have come across these past few weeks with Friday Finds. Friday Finds is a meme hosted by @adailyrhythm. It is a chance for you to showcase the books you’ve ‘found’ and added to your TBR list! They do not have to be books you purchased and they could’ve been found anywhere — bookstores, online, library, etc. Here are my most recent finds:

26891461

Lani Kennedy has dreamed of becoming a nurse since her cousin Arie died of leukemia. Nothing will stop her from getting into the local nursing program. Dawson Burke hasn’t dealt with his mom’s death, and he’s angry at his dad for moving them to Windemere right before senior year. He grudgingly accepts that he must wait till graduation before he leaves…

23203106

Every story needs a hero.
Every story needs a villain.
Every story needs a secret.

Wink is the odd, mysterious neighbor girl, wild red hair and freckles. Poppy is the blond bully and the beautiful, manipulative high school queen bee. Midnight is the sweet, uncertain boy caught between them. Wink. Poppy. Midnight.

26156191

The local Avery Theater was just a run-down building to Quin—until her mother told her the tragic love story of Nick and Emma that played out on the theater’s stage all those years ago. Quin is convinced it’s the perfect story to rewrite for her drama class, but when she goes searching for more information, she makes a startling discovery…

25528801

“I love you,” Polly says suddenly when I’m almost to the door.

“I know,” I say.

Hermione Winters has been a flyer. She’s been captain of her cheerleading team. The envied girlfriend and the undisputed queen of her school. Now it’s her last year and those days and those labels are fading fast. In a few months she’ll be a different person. She thinks she’s ready for whatever comes next…

25622828

In the weird and wonderful tradition of Kelly Link and Karen Russell, Amber Sparks’s dazzling new collection bursts forth with stories that render the apocalyptic and otherworldly hauntingly familiar. In “The Cemetery for Lost Faces,” two orphans translate their grief into taxidermy, artfully arresting the passage of time…

26858707

He found me in blood and tears.
I stayed with him through darkness and fire.

We loved each other in the moment between innocence and bitter truth.
We were the kids easily ignored, who grew into adults we hardly knew.

We weren’t meant to last forever. And we didn’t…

26095121

From Jesse Andrews, author of the New York Times bestselling Me and Earl and the Dying Girl and screenwriter of the Sundance award–winning motion picture of the same name, comes a groundbreaking young adult novel about music, love, friendship, and freedom as three young musicians follow a quest to escape the law long enough to play the amazing show they hope (but also doubt) they have in them…

21936809

A devious tale of psychological suspense involving sex, deception, and an accidental encounter that leads to murder. This is a modern re-imagining of Patricia Highsmith’s classic Strangers on a Train from the author of the acclaimed The Girl with a Clock for a Heart…

Besides the shortened book synopsis below the novel, I also left a link to the Goodreads page on the image. So if the synopsis left you hanging, definitely click on the book image so you can read on!

Feel free to follow my Goodreads account to be updated on what I am reading and/or what I plan to read in the future!

Which Cover Wednesday [#15]

FullSizeRender (6)

Random Fact of the Day: Clinophobia is the fear of beds.

Hello, we are halfway through the week! Yay! Which Cover Wednesday is a post hosted by Sumaya @suereadingcorner. For this post, you choose two different covers of the same book — the books can have different publishers, different formats, etc. Then you decide which one you think is more appealing. Let’s debate:

THE WINNER’S KISS BY MARIE RUTKOSKI

20443235

OR

28380374

I don’t know, both covers are pretty nice and have their pros & cons. I haven’t read anything in the Winner’s Trilogy, but I think I am going to have to go with the first cover. I like the first cover’s elegance, and I admit the female figure on the second cover looks badass, but I don’t know. It’s something about the detail but simplicity of the first cover that gets me…lol.

CALLING ME HOME BY JULIE KIBLER

15793184

OR

18933110

Definitely the first cover for this one. I like how you can predict what the story is going to be about based off of both covers, however the simplicity & solidness of the first cover is enjoyable.

REMEMBER ME BY ROMILY BERNARD

20359661

OR

23526381

First cover! The second cover looks like the front of a DVD that my parent’s used to buy when I was in elementary school, lol. And the first cover is very unique and detailed, and for some reason it reminds me of morse code or coding in general?

And there we have it my friends! Like always, I am up for a good debate or just to hear your guys’ opinions, so make sure you scroll to the bottom to leave a comment!

Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time…

Aneta @ Sincerely Aneta!!

FullSizeRender

ABOUT ANETA: I’m a 26 year old office assistant, who in my spare time writes new adult romance novels. I was born in Poland and moved to Australia when I was around 5 or 6, luckily going back a few times over the last few years to visit family. I have a weird love for anything horror related, Alice in Wonderland, and Harley Quinn from the Batman series (who is also my inspo for my pen name). I have two tattoos (one of which I’m getting removed because I hate the font), and I’m hoping to get another one that will be Alice in Wonderland themed – Curiosity often leads to trouble – across my ribs. I’m a bit of a creative person, often using my spare time to read, write, or draw.

I love Harley Quinn, even if I am more of a Marvel fan. And I think your idea of the AIW themed tattoo is so nice, so I hope you get it! Oh, oh, and here’s props to the drawers/writers/readers!! ❤

Q & A TIME!

ME: When did your blogging journey begin and why did you decide to start?

ANETA: I started blogging July 2015, so I’m still a baby to blogging. Essentially I started so that I could tell others about my journey and process of writing a book, which then turned into reviews and just an amazing place to communicate with other writers and readers. Great place to get book recommendations too!

[I was actually really surprised that she’s only been blogging for about a year because her blog is absolutely beautiful and well put together. Oh and I agree about a good place to get book recs lol.]

ME: Do you prefer purchasing your novels in store or online? At what site or store specifically?

ANETA: Depends how keen I am to read that certain book. I usually end up purchasing Kindle versions on Amazon, that way I get them then and there, and can start devouring the second I get it. I only just recently started a book collection, just got an amazing copy of Alice in Wonderland!

ME: Besides reading and blogging, what else do you do with your spare time?

ANETA: Well, I guess I could say writing. I’ve written a few novels, one of which has been independently published already – Chasing Charli. I’m more excited about my current novel though – Lace and Sin, which is due to be released end of this month (fingers crossed). You can find it on Goodreads here – https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28235660-lace-and-sin.

[Ooo, awesome possum! One book already published and another one coming? That’s really cool! Hope to read both one day!]

ME: I think Self-Love is important, so what is one thing you really love about yourself? (appearance, personality, etc.)

ANETA: I think I’m too nice sometimes. I find it hard to hate people, or hold grudges. Sometimes it’s a bad thing because I can be a bit of a push-over but I’m working on that, being a bit stronger haha

[This is SOOO me!! I’ve always been a push-over/sensitive, but like you I am trying to work on that. We can do it together! ❤ ]

ME: Since it is was the 3rd month of the year, what are your top three favorite songs right now?

ANETA: Hmm…top three favourite songs.
I don’t listen to the radio much in the car because I have my own music playing from my USB. But at the moment my top three songs would have to be
– Pillow talk – Originally by Zayn but I prefer the cover by The Vamps.
– Fairytale – By Milkychance (bit of an old one)
– 1985 – Hilltop Hoods ft. Tom Thum (Tom Thum is a beat boxer who’s been at the Adelaide Frindge a few times. He is sooo good. The saxophone and heaps of other sounds you hear in the song is actually done by this guy, it’s amazing!)

[Everyone has been listening to Zayn lately it’s ridiculous, lol. I haven’t heard of the second song, but the third I have just  and the third I have not either (I thought the artist said the 1975, lol). However I am always up for new music & my sister loves the sound of the sax so maybe I’ll pass that song over to her…]

laceandsinAneta is very friendly
, I have to say. I was planning to post her FWF in March but I never ended up contacting her back in time, so that was my fault. However, thank you so so much Aneta for eventually having the time to chat with me! Like I said before, Aneta’s blog is very, very pro-like (please teach me your skills) and MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT HER TWO NOVELS!!! I just recently nominated her novel, Lace and Sin, for the Kindle Scout campaign, so if you have the time you can, too, HERE! But other than that, feel free to swing by her blog just to browse because her variety of posts make you feel comfortable (at least for me, lol) and I love how simple but sometimes detailed her posts can be.

You can check out all her social media on her blog as well if you are interested!

Thank you, thank you, thank YOU Aneta for taking the time to chat with me and share yourself more with the blogging community. I look forward to seeing your upcoming novel get published and I hope a ton of success continues to come your way!

Thanks for reading and I’ll see you next time…
