Which Cover Wednesday [#33]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-7

Random Quote of the Day: “No one really listens to anyone else, and if you try it for a while you’ll see why.” – Mignon McLaughlin

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Which Cover Wednesday is a post hosted by Sumaya @suereadingcorner. For this post, you choose two different covers of the same book — the books can have different publishers, different formats, etc. Then you decide which one you think is more appealing. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but if you guys ever have theme recommendations or recs in general for WCW, please feel free to comment them!😀 Let’s get onto the debate! ⚔

Okay this one is actually a little tricky. I own the first cover and it’s actually not that bad for how simplistic it is. However I really love the quality of the second cover…Hmmm…I think I’ll have to go with the SECOND COVER. I don’t know what it is but I really enjoy it!

Friday Finds [Aug. 4th]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-8

Random Quote of the Day: “Insane people are always sure that they are fine. It is only the sane people who are willing to admit that they are crazy.” – Nora Ephron

Hello sunshines! 🔆 It is officially Friday!! I hope everyone had a worthwhile week and if not, here’s your chance to make up for such a boring week with the weekend!! Friday Finds is a meme hosted by @adailyrhythm. It is a chance for you to showcase the books you’ve ‘found’ and added to your TBR list! They do not have to be books you purchased and they could’ve been found anywhere — bookstores, online, library, etc. I don’t know how many Finds I’ll actually be sharing today just because this week has been pretty crazy and hence, I haven’t had much time to venture through GR to discover new Finds. But anyways, here’s what I HAVE found since my last Friday Finds (:

Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh. Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now, they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers…right?

Amanda Hardy is the new girl in school in Lambertville, Tennessee. Like any other girl, all she wants is to make friends and fit in. But Amanda is keeping a secret. There’s a reason why she transferred schools for her senior year, and why she’s determined not to get too close to anyone. And then she meets Grant Everett. Grant is unlike anyone she’s ever met—open, honest, kind—and Amanda can’t help but start to let him into her life. As they spend more time together, she finds herself yearning to share with Grant everything about herself…including her past. But she’s terrified that once she tells Grant the truth, he won’t be able to see past it…

What?? A Book Review?! | Anya’s Ghost by Vera Brosgol

bi-weekly-wrap-up-21

Random Quote of the Day: “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” – Pablo Picasso

IMG_5681

Title: Anya’s Ghost

Author(s): Vera Brosgol

Genre: Graphic Novel, YA, Fantasy

Page Count: 221

Published: June 7th, 2011

Format: Paperback

Source: Purchased

BUY HERE: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Book Depository

“Anya could really use a friend. But her new BFF isn’t kidding about the “Forever” part.

Of all the things Anya expected to find at the bottom of an old well, a new friend was not one of them. Especially not a new friend who’s been dead for a century.

Falling down a well is bad enough, but Anya’s normal life might actually be worse. She’s embarrassed by her family, self-conscious about her body, and she’s pretty much given up on fitting in at school. A new friend—even a ghost—is just what she needs.

Or so she thinks. Spooky, sardonic, and secretly sincere, Anya’s Ghost is a wonderfully entertaining debut from author/artist Vera Brosgol.”

Friday Finds [Jul. 21st]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-8

Random Quote of the Day: “Happiness isn’t something you experience; it’s something you remember.” – Oscar Levant

Hello sunshines! 🔆 I know what you’re thinking…”Jesalin, how are you still finding books when you haven’t been reading any?” Well, I’ve been asking myself that exact same question.

But that is besides the point!

35144722“Hello, my name is Esther. I am calling on behalf of Krippler Incorporated, a market research institute. Today we are conducting a survey on feline diabetes. Do you, or any member of your household, own a cat?” They hang up. “Hello. My name is Joan. I am calling on behalf of-” They hang up. “Hello. My name’s Doreen.” Jane is a telemarketer. She uses a different name each time, and soon it becomes clear that she is calling the same man again and again…

Friday Finds [Jun.22nd]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-8

Random Quote of the Day: “Everybody hates me because I’m so universally liked.” – Peter de Vries

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Despite my miniature hiatus for the past few weeks, I’ve still been semi-active on the Twitter and therefore have found some more novels to add to my TBR! I don’t really remember what I’ve been adding to the list, so this post will be a good reminder and will hopefully get me out of this reading slump…

They tell me that my memory will never be the same, that I’ll start forgetting things. At first just a little, and then a lot. So I’m writing to remember. Sammie was always a girl with a plan: graduate at the top of her class and get out of her small town as soon as humanly possible. Nothing will stand in her way–not even a rare genetic disorder the doctors say will slowly start to steal her memories and then her health. What she needs is a new plan…

Five went in. Four came out. No one knows what happened that morning at River Point. Five boys went hunting. Four came back. The boys won’t say who fired the shot that killed their friend; the evidence shows it could have been any one of them…

Grace wants out. Out of her house, where her stepfather wields fear like a weapon and her mother makes her scrub imaginary dirt off the floors. Hello sunshines! 🔆 How are you all on this lovely Wednesday? It is the last full week of April and I am so read for this month to be over! I feel like I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but I’m hoping the more I say it the faster it’ll come true 😅 Anyways, Which Cover Wednesday is a post hosted by Sumaya @suereadingcorner.
