OMG This Song Book Tag!

bi-weekly-wrap-up-12

Random Quote of the Day: “If a problem has no solution, it may not be a problem, but a fact – not to be solved, but to be coped with over time.” – Shimon Peres

Hello sunshines! 🔆

I have finally been actually tagged — it’s a miracle! Thank you to Ann @ Ann’s Reading Corner for thinking of me for this; I very much appreciate it! (:

The OMG THIS SONG Book Tag was created by Katie @ Katesbookdate, so feel free to check out her original video for details about the tag! Let’s get started!

MY JAM:
A SONG YOU MUST LISTEN TO EVERY TIME IT COMES ON, NO MATTER HOW OLD OR HOW MANY TIMES YOU’VE LISTENED TO IT / A BOOK YOU’LL NEVER GET SICK OF

📚 LOOKING FOR ALASKA by John Green —  my all time favorite book hands down. If you don’t enjoy this novel then I feel extremely sad for you I completely support your opinion! 😄

🎶 DIVE by Ed Sheeran — anything Ed Sheeran I will never get tired of because he is SO AMAZING and he MAKES ME WANT TO CRY TEARS OF HAPPINESS AND SADNESS AT THE SAME TIME!!

THROWBACK:
A SONG THAT REMINDS YOU OF THE CRINGEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE / A BOOK THAT ALSO REMINDS YOU OF THIS TIME (OR JUST SOMETHING YOU WOULDN’T LIKE AS MUCH IF YOU PICKED IT UP FOR THE FIRST TIME NOW)

📚 THE MAZE RUNNER SERIES by James Dashner — it was an okay series and I didn’t really enjoy any of the other novels after the first one. I forced myself to finish the series lol.

🎶 SKYSCRAPER by Demi Lovato — this moment in life wasn’t necessarily cringy, but it was a time that I wish I never spent so much dreading over. Don’t get me wrong, I love Demi, but that song put me in my feels for more than I would have liked.

On My Shelf Tag!

bi-weekly-wrap-up-12

Random Quote of the Day: “The ability to delude yourself may be an important survival tool.” – Jane Wagner

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Two days back to back? I’m on a roll!! Today’s tag is called ON MY SHELF and it was created by Iain Broome over on Booktube, so be sure to check out the original video if you are interested! This tag looked pretty fun so let’s get started!

💬 ABOUT THE TAG:

EVERY BOOK ON YOUR SHELF HAS A STORY. The story can be how you came to own that book, how you found it for the first time, or how it made you feel while reading it.

To pick which novels to talk about, you can use a random number generator OR simply close your eyes and pick one! For this post, I am using RANDOM.ORG to pick which book number! You can do as many rounds as you like, but for today I’ll be completing FIVE rounds!! (:

BOOK #114

Image result for the dinner herman kochTHE DINNER BY HERMAN KOCH: This was a book sent to me for review via Blogging for Books and I ended up not enjoying it at all. I thought it had an interesting concept so I was generally excited to read it, but turns out it was really slow and dry and I couldn’t get into it, lol.

Seven Deadly Sins Tag!

bi-weekly-wrap-up-12

Random Quote of the Day: “One of the indictments of civilizations is that happiness and intelligence are so rarely found in the same person.” – William Feather

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Yes, I’ve actually been TAGGED this time for the SEVEN DEADLY SINS tag, so let’s do it! Oh, and thank you, Yasmin, for the tag!! ❤

GREED

What is your most inexpensive book? What is your most expensive book?

Hmmm…do the books I got for free count as the most inexpensive? Because if so, I have a ton of those. However my most expensive book thus far would have to be THE SCULPTOR by Scott McCloud — this beauty was cheaper on BookOutlet (thank you, BO), but it’s sales price is around $22.

WRATH

What author do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Image result for wrath sinHmmm…I’m going to have to go with Colleen Hoover or Rainbow Rowell. Both of these authors have controversial novels that have been brought into my attention as of lately but I do enjoy one or two of their novels.

GLUTTONY

What book have you devoured over and over with no shame?

LOOKING FOR ALASKA by John Green. This one is a no-brainer — I read it once (maybe even twice) a year!

Top Ten Tuesday [#41]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-6

Random Quote of the Day: “Henceforth I ask not good fortune. I myself am good fortune. ” – Walt Whitman

Hello sunshines! 🔆 I know I’ve been unexpectedly gone this past week, but this will ALL be explained in my very late April Wrap-Up! But for the time being, I’m sharing another TTT post! This week’s topic is…Top Ten Things On My Reading Wishlist!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week I will post a new Top Ten List. This list includes topics such as ‘my top ten favorite authors’ or ‘my top ten books of this month’. The topics will change, so make sure you stay tuned for each week! Feel free to comment or link your Top Ten Tuesday lists below and I’ll be more than happy to check them out!

MORE DIVERSITY

This one is a no-brainer, but I felt like it still needed to be said. When I say diversity, I don’t just mean racial-wise, but other cultures, backgrounds, mental illnesses, etc. You can NEVER have too much Diversity!! ❤️️💛💙💜💚

MORE NOVELS ABOUT BOOK-LOVERS

Image result for book loversWhen I read books about a main character that loves to read, blog, paint, etc. it makes me so happy because I can relate to them so well!!

MORE NOVELS SET OUTSIDE THE U.S.

I know this is partly my fault that I keep picking up novels set in my country, but I would to read other novels that ARE NOT taken place in the U.S. I think the writing would be different and I’d definitely get a “feel” for other cultures that way. Since I am Guamanian and African American, I would love to read YA novels set in Guam or Africa! 🇬🇺

Is It Summer Yet? | April BWWU

bi-weekly-wrap-up-20

Random Quote of the Day: “The deeper sorrow carves into your being the more joy you can contain.” – Kahlil Gibran

Hello sunshines! ☀ This month has been nothing but hectic and I am super glad I’m getting the chance to do a small recap for you guys, but also for myself!

FullSizeRender (62)

  • Lent is almost over and therefore I will be back on Twitter and Instagram starting sometime next week!! I’ve missed interacting with you on there, so I’m excited to get back to it!
  • There is so much to be done in such little time and I feel so rushed for school and such. But on the bright side every day is a day closer to summer!!
  • I took the ACT last weekend so that was another weight lifted off of my shoulders. It wasn’t as difficult as I thought, but that might just mean that I answered all the wrong answers xD
  • I applied for the Experience Berkeley Program a few weeks ago, so I’ll be waiting for a reply in late May! *fingers crossed I got accepted* 😅
  • I’m still looking for a possible summer job — I tried looking for one at my local library but right now they don’t have any applications available *sigh* But once there is one, I will definitely be applying!!

DST Really Messed Me Up…| March Wrap-Up

bi-weekly-wrap-up-19

Random Quote of the Day: “Don’t let your sorrow come higher than your knees.”- Swedish Proverb

Hello sunshines! ☀ We are officially at the end March and I am already ready for April to be over with 😅 DST (Daylight Savings Time) really did mess up my sleeping patterns, but now that it is the beginning of April, I am better at waking up in the morning xD Last month was definitely an interesting one, so here’s what did and didn’t happen this March!

THE BOOKS

CANDIDE BY VOLTAIRE

MY RATING: 3 out of 5 stars

Image result for candide voltaire

I am super sad and disappointed that I did not get the chance to get to my March DBOTM — I was really excited to be able to get to this month’s book, however I am going to really try and read my March AND April DBOTM this upcoming month!! I’ve been assigned so much reading for school that I haven’t had time to read my DBOTM’s ☹

THE ART

Quick question: Would anyone actually consider purchasing any of my past artworks? My mom was asking why I don’t sell my artwork on Etsy and I never really considered it. But if a good amount of people say yes, then I might invest into that. So, definitely let me know! (:
