Hello sunshines! 🔆 Captivating Covers is a meme created by me — @JBelkBooks. Every week or so, I share a cover of a novel that I find to be Captivating. It doesn’t have to be one you’ve read, just one that you enjoy! You can add your own twist to it, but I like to include the book synopsis & book details. So, I created this meme to share my findings with you all! 📚
Author: Lorena Alvarez Gomez
Genre: Graphic Novel, Fantasy, Children/MG
Published: March 14th, 2017
THIS COVER IS SO GORGEOUS OH MY GOODNESS. AND THE AUTHOR DESIGNS HER OWN COVERS!! That’s so amazing!! After looking at the cover for at least 2 minutes I then decided that I needed more so I found some pictures of the inside content and I am in love.
I love how vibrant all the colors are and how selective they are! All the colors contrast so well and it is very well detailed for a Middle Grade/Children’s graphic novel! I actually don’t come across that many MG/Children’s GN so it’s really awesome to come across such amazing ones like these once in a while.

Hello sunshines! 🔆 It is officially Friday!! I hope everyone had a worthwhile week and if not, here’s your chance to make up for such a boring week with the weekend!! Friday Finds is a meme hosted by @adailyrhythm. It is a chance for you to showcase the books you’ve ‘found’ and added to your TBR list! They do not have to be books you purchased and they could’ve been found anywhere — bookstores, online, library, etc. I don’t know how many Finds I’ll actually be sharing today just because this week has been pretty crazy and hence, I haven’t had much time to venture through GR to discover new Finds. But anyways, here’s what I HAVE found since my last Friday Finds (:
Dimple Shah has it all figured out. With graduation behind her, she’s more than ready for a break from her family, from Mamma’s inexplicable obsession with her finding the “Ideal Indian Husband.” Ugh. Dimple knows they must respect her principles on some level, though. If they truly believed she needed a husband right now, they wouldn’t have paid for her to attend a summer program for aspiring web developers…right?
Amanda Hardy is the new girl in school in Lambertville, Tennessee. Like any other girl, all she wants is to make friends and fit in. But Amanda is keeping a secret. There’s a reason why she transferred schools for her senior year, and why she’s determined not to get too close to anyone. And then she meets Grant Everett. Grant is unlike anyone she’s ever met—open, honest, kind—and Amanda can’t help but start to let him into her life. As they spend more time together, she finds herself yearning to share with Grant everything about herself…including her past. But she’s terrified that once she tells Grant the truth, he won’t be able to see past it…

Hello sunshines! 🔆 It breaks my heart to realize that it is almost August. August = school = horror. But as the title of this posts says, tomorrow is my Blogiversary, so that makes this upcoming month a little better!! ✨
ANYA’S GHOST BY VERA BROSGOL
MY RATING: 3.5 out of 5 stars
It is no surprise that I only read one novel this month that isn’t even an ACTUAL novel, but a graphic novel. I thought this was going to take me out of my slump, but it looks like I have to read a different novel to do that. I do have a review planned for this one later on in the week so stay tuned for that! I started reading 21 Proms, which is consisted of short stories by multiple authors, so we’ll see if that novel does the trick.

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Two days back to back? I’m on a roll!! Today’s tag is called ON MY SHELF and it was created by Iain Broome over on Booktube, so be sure to check out the original video if you are interested! This tag looked pretty fun so let’s get started!
💬 ABOUT THE TAG:
EVERY BOOK ON YOUR SHELF HAS A STORY. The story can be how you came to own that book, how you found it for the first time, or how it made you feel while reading it.
To pick which novels to talk about, you can use a random number generator OR simply close your eyes and pick one! For this post, I am using RANDOM.ORG to pick which book number! You can do as many rounds as you like, but for today I’ll be completing FIVE rounds!! (:
THE DINNER BY HERMAN KOCH: This was a book sent to me for review via Blogging for Books and I ended up not enjoying it at all. I thought it had an interesting concept so I was generally excited to read it, but turns out it was really slow and dry and I couldn’t get into it, lol.
