Random Quote of the Day: “It is impossible to walk rapidly and be unhappy.” – Dr. Howard Murphy

Hello sunshines! 🔆

TOP TEN TUESDAY is finally back with new topics! In case your forgot or aren’t aware, Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week I will post a new Top Ten List. This list includes topics such as ‘my top ten favorite authors’ or ‘my top ten books of this month’. The topics will change, so make sure you stay tuned for each week! Feel free to comment or link your Top Ten Tuesday lists below and I’ll be more than happy to check them out!

This week’s topic is Top Ten Recommendations For…I chose to talk about Ten Recommendations for Diverse Readers! Now, I haven’t read a ton of Diverse Reads, but I am going to also recommend novels that you check out as well! Let’s get to it! (:

THE HATE U GIVE by Angie Thomas

This one has been streaming all over my social media feeds with promotion and rave for how awesome and well-written it is. I have yet to read this beauty even though I own it (shame on me), but I definitely recommend ALL readers to check this novel out!

WE ARE OKAY by Nina Lacour

28243032I love Lacour and her writing! And if the cover of this one doesn’t draw you in as well then you are missing out! This novel has LGBTQIA+ representation so if you are interested in venturing into that topic, this one is for you!

Top Ten Tuesday Past Editions [#42]

Random Quote of the Day: “I didn’t really say everything I said.”- Yogi Berra

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Today I am taking the opportunity to tackle some past TTT topics that I missed! Since school I starting up soon (sadly), I decided to talk about the BACK TO SCHOOL Freebie! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE back-to-school shopping! With that being said, I am listing TEN FAVORITE BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLIES!

PLANNERS

If you struggle with organization and procrastination and truly suggest that you Screenshot (7)invest in a planner! It doesn’t have to be anything special and if you don’t want to purchase one, there are a ton of DIY templates online! I use my planner daily as I write down homework assignments, deadlines, and lots of other useful notes. Some of my favorite planners are: PASSION PLANNER, PLANNERS FROM TARGET, or the BULLET JOURNAL system! I currently own a BUJO so if anyone is interested in a flip-through, definitely let me know in the comments!

ZEBRA MILDLINERS

IMG_5632I recently found these beauties and I love them SO much. They come in various colors and they do not bleed through the paper UNLESS you apply several layers. Mildliners are essentially highlighters, but I use it for notes, quick sketches, and other minimal designs. These mildliners are double ended — one side with a bold chisel tip and the other being a thin fine point. I bought mine on AMAZON, but I’m sure you can find them other places online. I’m not sure if they are sold in stores since they are a Japanese brand, but let me know if they have them in stores near you!!

Random Quote of the Day: “Henceforth I ask not good fortune. I myself am good fortune. ” – Walt Whitman

Hello sunshines! 🔆 I know I’ve been unexpectedly gone this past week, but this will ALL be explained in my very late April Wrap-Up! But for the time being, I’m sharing another TTT post! This week’s topic is…Top Ten Things On My Reading Wishlist!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

MORE DIVERSITY

This one is a no-brainer, but I felt like it still needed to be said. When I say diversity, I don’t just mean racial-wise, but other cultures, backgrounds, mental illnesses, etc. You can NEVER have too much Diversity!! ❤️️💛💙💜💚

MORE NOVELS ABOUT BOOK-LOVERS

Image result for book loversWhen I read books about a main character that loves to read, blog, paint, etc. it makes me so happy because I can relate to them so well!!

MORE NOVELS SET OUTSIDE THE U.S.

I know this is partly my fault that I keep picking up novels set in my country, but I would to read other novels that ARE NOT taken place in the U.S. I think the writing would be different and I’d definitely get a “feel” for other cultures that way. Since I am Guamanian and African American, I would love to read YA novels set in Guam or Africa! 🇬🇺

Random Quote of the Day: “Our feelings are our most genuine paths to knowledge.” – Audre Lorde

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Happy Tuesday! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Top Ten Things That Will Make Me Instantly Want To Read A Book. As always if you have as much as I do with this post, feel free to link me to your posts! (:

AESTHETICALLY PLEASING COVERS

I think we can all agree that cover lust is a thing, and sometimes we pick up a novel off the shelves just because the cover catches our eyes — and if you say you haven’t thought this before then you are a liar are such a great person.

SOMEONE RECOMMENDS THE BOOK TO ME

Now this doesn’t happen with just anyone — I know a few bloggers here and there that have similar book-tastes to me. When they recommend novels to me, I look into them and usually end up adding it to my TBR. It isn’t an insta-buy, but I do want to read it.

MY FAVORITE AUTHORS BLURBS IT

If I see that Nicola Yoon, John Green, or Jennifer Niven blurbs a novel then there is a 99% chance that I will look into the novel with a 98% chance that I’ll actually buy it. They don’t even have to have a blurb; if they promote it on social media or even mention a novel, you better believe that I am adding it to my TBR.

Random Quote of the Day: “We can lick gravity, but sometimes the paperwork is overwhelming” – Wernher von Braun

Hello sunshines!🔆 How are you all doing today? Today was pretty warm here in California but we all know it could be raining tomorrow 😅 This week’s TTT is pretty intriguing as I get to remind myself all of what websites that I can never visit unless I want to checkout and be broke for the rest of my life, lol. This Tuesday’s Topic is Sites to Find Fandom Merch! (notice that I did not put TEN sites as I don’t know of that many!)

ETSY

Most of us are familiar with Etsy as it is a site filled with other things to purchase besides Fandom-related items. However, I do warn you that once you get on this site you’ll probably be scrolling for several hours as it is VERY addicting! I personally love Etsy for everything Fandom, but also phone cases, stationary supplies, etc.

Some Favorite Shops: HappyHelloCo. | Jane’s Tiny Things | Frostbeard

REDBUBBLE

Another addicting site indeed, however this one doesn’t have as much as Etsy. But don’t get me wrong, the creativity is still definitely there!! On RB they have items such as T-shirts to dresses to laptop cases!

Some Favorite Designers: Jasmine Pearl Raymundo | eviebookish | Dan Elijah Fajardo

Random Quote of the Day: “If all the world’s a stage, I want to operate the trap door.” – Paul Beatty

Hello sunshines! 🔆 I am super excited for this week’s TTT just because it allows me to sort of reminisce on the good times that I’ve experienced! Because this topic is so awesome, PLEASE feel free to link your TTT’s in the comments so we can share the excitement together! Without a further ado, this week’s TTT topic is Authors I Can’t Believe I Have/Haven’t Met.

AUTHORS I’VE MET

Now that I’ve thought about it, I’ve had the greatest pleasure of meeting so many great authors. I am super appreciative of these experiences, and I wish that you ALL have the opportunity to meet your favorite authors one day!

Rainbow Rowell – I met her at YALLWest 2016 and I had the chance to chat with her and get Eleanor & Park signed!

David Levithan – Again, I met him at YALLWest last year as well, and I was able to get a few books signed by him including Will Grayson, Will Grayson, Every You, Every Me, and some others!

Erin Bowman – Another author I met at YALLWest and I got Taken signed!

Alexandra Sirowy In case you didn’t see my post, I recently met the author of The Creeping AND had the opportunity to interview her! She was such a bright individual and it was honestly a very great time.

Jennifer Niven – OMG THIS WAS SO AMAZING AND I’VE NEVER BEEN MORE HAPPY!!! I, again, met Niven at YALLWest (THANK YOU, YALLWEST) and she was so amazing and beautiful!! If you haven’t been on my blog before, NIVEN IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE AUTHORS so I was extremely starstruck 😍

Rahul Kanakia // Traci Chee // Christy Lenzi // Sonya Mukherjee // Jessica Taylor // Kelly Gilbert // Parker Peevyhouse // Tim Floreen // Nina LaCour // Tara Sim // Tricia Stirling –  YES, I have met ALL of these beauties at an event this 2017 and it was definitely worthwhile. If you’ve missed that discussion post, you can check it out HERE.

Now, I know that was a little bit over 10 authors, but…yeah…ANYWAYS, this post was really fun for me as I was able to remember what I’ve had the honor of doing. If you went to YALLWest last year or if you are planning to go this 2017, definitely let me know!! ❤
