Friday Finds [Apr. 28th]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-8

Random Quote of the Day: “I hate music, especially when it’s played.” – Jimmy Durante

Hello sunshines! 🔆 It brings such joy to me as I get to say that it is FINALLY FRIDAY!! Friday’s are always good as it is the last day of the weekdays and the start of the weekend! Friday Finds is a meme hosted by @adailyrhythm. It is a chance for you to showcase the books you’ve ‘found’ and added to your TBR list! They do not have to be books you purchased and they could’ve been found anywhere — bookstores, online, library, etc. Here’s what I’ve found since my last Friday Finds (:

Five hundred great works of art from all periods and regions in the world have been carefully selected and are arranged in chronological order, breaking through the usual geographical and cultural boundaries of art history to celebrate the vast range of human artistry.

Grace wants out. Out of her house, where her stepfather wields fear like a weapon and her mother makes her scrub imaginary dirt off the floors. Out of her California town, too small to contain her big city dreams. Out of her life, and into the role of Parisian artist, New York director—anything but scared and alone. Enter Gavin: charming, talented, adored. Controlling. Dangerous. When Grace and Gavin fall in love, Grace is sure it’s too good to be true. She has no idea their relationship will become a prison she’s unable to escape…

Which Cover Wednesday [#30]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-7

Random Quote of the Day: “In a mad world only the mad are sane.” – Akira Kurosawa

Hello sunshines! 🔆 How are you all on this lovely Wednesday? It is the last full week of April and I am so read for this month to be over! I feel like I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but I’m hoping the more I say it the faster it’ll come true 😅 Anyways, Which Cover Wednesday is a post hosted by Sumaya @suereadingcorner. For this post, you choose two different covers of the same book — the books can have different publishers, different formats, etc. Then you decide which one you think is more appealing. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but if you guys ever have theme recommendations or recs in general for WCW, please feel free to comment them!😀 Let’s get onto the debate! ⚔

INTO THE WATER BY PAULA HAWKINS

I love, love, love the first cover. The colors are vibrant, the graphics are clear, and whole cover is cohesive all together. The second cover is okay, but I love the detail of the first cover.

The Spring Has Sprung Book Tag!

bi-weekly-wrap-up-12

Random Quote of the Day: “To love deeply in one direction makes us more loving in all others.” – Anne-Sophie Swetchine

Hello sunshines! 🔆 I am officially back with another book tag: The Spring Has Sprung! I know I am a little late with the start of Spring, but it’s okay because it’s still Spring here!! 🌻

💐 FLOWERS 💐

Look on your shelves. What is the most beautiful book both inside and out?

Yoon_9780553496680_jkt_all_r1.inddTHE SUN IS ALSO A STAR by Nicola Yoon!! I think the cover goes well with the Spring-theme as it has so many bright colors! I love this novel, Yoon, and the cover so I think this one is a perfect fit (:

 🌱 GRASS 🌱

What is a book that you find others like way more than you do?

WE WERE LIARS by E. Lockhart. I know not EVERYONE likes this novel, but a ton of people have told me to “give it another try”. I just couldn’t get into the beginning and I felt disconnected from the characters.

☔️ RAIN ☔️

What’s a great book that lifts your spirits when you’re down?

LG_tumblr-ngcdmtOJvJ1thbbnoo1-1280_1422199718.539There’s so many that I could choose for this one, but it would only make sense if I chose ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES by Jennifer Niven. Now don’t get the wrong message — ATBP isn’t the happiest novel, however I love it so much and the characters that it still brings a smile to my face!

Top Ten Tuesday [#40]

bi-weekly-wrap-up-6

Random Quote of the Day: “Our feelings are our most genuine paths to knowledge.” – Audre Lorde

Hello sunshines! 🔆 Happy Tuesday! This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Top Ten Things That Will Make Me Instantly Want To Read A Book. As always if you have as much as I do with this post, feel free to link me to your posts! (:

AESTHETICALLY PLEASING COVERS

I think we can all agree that cover lust is a thing, and sometimes we pick up a novel off the shelves just because the cover catches our eyes — and if you say you haven’t thought this before then you are a liar are such a great person.

SOMEONE RECOMMENDS THE BOOK TO ME

Now this doesn’t happen with just anyone — I know a few bloggers here and there that have similar book-tastes to me. When they recommend novels to me, I look into them and usually end up adding it to my TBR. It isn’t an insta-buy, but I do want to read it.

MY FAVORITE AUTHORS BLURBS IT

If I see that Nicola Yoon, John Green, or Jennifer Niven blurbs a novel then there is a 99% chance that I will look into the novel with a 98% chance that I’ll actually buy it. They don’t even have to have a blurb; if they promote it on social media or even mention a novel, you better believe that I am adding it to my TBR.

Is It Summer Yet? | April BWWU

bi-weekly-wrap-up-20

Random Quote of the Day: “The deeper sorrow carves into your being the more joy you can contain.” – Kahlil Gibran

Hello sunshines! ☀ This month has been nothing but hectic and I am super glad I’m getting the chance to do a small recap for you guys, but also for myself!

FullSizeRender (62)

  • Lent is almost over and therefore I will be back on Twitter and Instagram starting sometime next week!! I’ve missed interacting with you on there, so I’m excited to get back to it!
  • There is so much to be done in such little time and I feel so rushed for school and such. But on the bright side every day is a day closer to summer!!
  • I took the ACT last weekend so that was another weight lifted off of my shoulders. It wasn’t as difficult as I thought, but that might just mean that I answered all the wrong answers xD
  • I applied for the Experience Berkeley Program a few weeks ago, so I’ll be waiting for a reply in late May! *fingers crossed I got accepted* 😅
  • I’m still looking for a possible summer job — I tried looking for one at my local library but right now they don’t have any applications available *sigh* But once there is one, I will definitely be applying!!
